Team Fiji will look to Sprint King, Banuve Tabakaucoro to set the tracks alight when the heats of the 100 metres Pacific Games starts tonight.
Tabakaucoro is Fiji's top bet to maintain our dominance in the blue ribbon event where record holder Jone Delai and John Lum Kon ruled the tracks.
The 100 metres overwhelming favourite is Tabakaucoro who this year ran outstanding times of 10.43, 10.46 and 10.49 seconds in the World Youth Games.
The athlete with the next fastest time is Nelson Stone of PNG with a 10.51 seconds qualifying time while Lepani Naivalu will also provide some competition.
Fiji Athletics President, Albert Miller said that Tabakaucoro's challenge is whether he can break the current Pacific Games record of 10.32 seconds set by Jone Delai.
The 100 metres heats will start at 6.20pm.
Meanwhile, 5 gold medals are up for grabs in Athletics today in the Pacific games.
The Mens Shot put final and Womens triple jump starts at 5.30pm, Womens Discuss final is at 7.15pm, the Mens 3000 steeplechase will start at 7.20pm and Womens 5,000 meters final at 7.50pm.
Looking at the medal tally, New Caledonia maintains the first spot on the medal tally with 66 gold, 51 silver and 23 bronze while Tahiti is second with 29 gold, 20 silver and 17 bronze.
Fiji is third with 13 gold, 16 silver and 23 bronze.
