Professor touts the value of intellectual property
Protecting intellectual property is a valuable asset of any business which can lead to the growth of an economy.

These are the sentiments of Professor Elizabeth Siew-Kuan from the University of Singapore speaking on the importance of Intellectual Property Education at a symposium organised by the World Intellectual Property Organisation currently being held at the USP.

Professor Siew-Kuan said Singapore is a young country having recently just celebrated its 45th year of independence this month, however since it gained independence it has managed to jump from a 3rd world county to 1st world status becoming a modern city, because of the way it protects the intellectual property of its people and businesses.

She added the protection of intellectual property will also be an incentive to lure businesses to set up in any country.
