Eye specialist team heads to Vunidawa
A team of specialist eye doctors will be heading to Vunidawa in two weeks time to carry out corrective eye surgery.

Health Ministry Spokesperson, Iliesa Tora says that they have decided to undertake the outreach service to the residents in rural areas as the health centres do not provide eye care.

The Fred Hollows Foundation had carried out a survery in the country two months ago and revealed that the leading cause of blindness in the country was a result of diabetes with Fiji having a prevalence rate of close to 40%.

The team made of up of specialist from New Zealand and CWM will be visiting Vunidawa from the 15th to the 19th of next month.
