7 children dead from malnutrition this year
Seven children have died due to malnutrition so far this year while 17 children died last year.

Dr Raina Prasad said there were 32 children suffering from malnutrition in 2007 with the number rising to 140 last year and for the first three months of this year, they have received 52 reported cases.


Doctor Prasad added that they have an average of 10 to 12 children admitted with severe malnutrition nationwide.

Malnutrition is the condition that develops when the body does not get the right amount of vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients it needs to maintain healthy tissues and organ function.
