Drua Women edge Western Force 29-24 in thrilling home victory
The McDonald's Fiji Drua Women delivered a brilliant performance in their first home game of the Super W season, edging the Western Force 29-24 this afternoon.

Trailing 14-5 at halftime, the Drua Women turned the match around with a spirited performance after the break, scoring four tries in the second half to secure a memorable victory in front of their home supporters.

The Drua Women made the most of their home-ground advantage to secure a strong result in front of their supporters in Lautoka.

The Drua looked in trouble at the break but turned the match around in emphatic fashion, with Litiana Vueti emerging as the star of the show after scoring four tries following her introduction in the second half.

Aqela also continued her impressive form, crossing for her second try in just her second game for the Drua as the home side fought their way back into the contest.

With the scores locked at 24-24 midway through the second spell, Varanisese Qoro broke through the Force defence and provided the assist for Vueti to score a crucial try in the 67th minute.

Qoro was instrumental throughout the comeback, adding successful conversions and creating opportunities as the Drua piled pressure on the visitors.

The final stages were tense, with the Western Force pressing hard for an equalising score.

However, the Drua defence stood firm, forcing a knock-on in the dying moments to secure the victory.

The Drua Women will next face the Brumbies Women at 2.05pm at 4R Stadium in Ba next Saturday.
