A man in his early 30's is admitted at the CWM hospital after he was stabbed by a man whom he assaulted and tried to rob at the Nasinu Cemetery yesterday.
Divisional Crime Officer Eastern, ASP Ramesh Chand has confirmed that a carrier driver went to visit his mother’s grave when he was attacked by four men. The four assaulted and robbed him of cash and other items.
The robbers also had a kitchen knife and the man somehow managed to get hold off the knife and stabbed one of the robbers.
The robber sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the CWM hospital. The three who allegedly robbed the driver are now in police custody.
No charges will be laid against the driver who stabbed the robber as according to police the driver acted in self-defense.
