Red Rock wins Coral Coast 7s

Red Rock is the first team to win the Coral Coast 7's title twice on the third Coral Coast tournament.

Qauia based side defeated Police 17-12 to clinch the Coral Coast 7s title and walk away with $33,000.

Red Rock kicked off the final in style by scoring the first try in just 24 seconds to lead by 7-0.

The speedy winger, Jone Macilai was the toast of the side after he scored his second try for Red Rock after 50 seconds to make it 10-0.

The Red Rock captain Jasa Veremalua led by example and scored the side’s third try to lead by 17-0 before the breather.

Police came back strongly in the second half and scored two tries but was not enough to beat the confident Red Rock side.

Police walked away with $11,000 as runners-up.

Red Rock won the title back in 2010.

In the other finals, Westfield Babaas defeated Aussie Thunderbolt 24-7 to win the Plate, Hideaway clinched the Bowl title after defeating Wardens 17-5 and Yamacia won the Shield beating Navy 24-7.

In the cup semifinals: Red Rock beat Davetalevu 19-5 while Police defeated Naviti 24-5.
