The Digicel Fiji 7s team beat Samoa 38-15 to win the England 7s this morning but it was not enough to claim the IRB World 7s series title.
Fiji was unsettled early in the final but managed to find their rhythm midway into the first half after a 70 metre run by Joji Ragamate.
Joeli Lutumailagi showed his physicality after fending off Rupeni Levasa to score in the corner before Waisea Nayacalevu scored again for Fiji to lead 17-10 at half time.
Metuisela Talebula touched down for Fiji early in the second half after some hard hitting tackles by Aisake Katonibau.
Katonibau was at his best again after he set up Joeli Lutumailagi for his second try before Ilai Tinai scored Fiji's final try on the stroke of full time.
Player of the tournament and Captain Setefano Cakau dedicated the win to all the mothers in Fiji.
Cakau added that they have achieved their mission.
Fiji thrashed New Zealand 31-7 in their semifinal earlier this morning.
Waisea Nayacalevu and Jimilai Naikadawa scored two tries each to help Fiji beat New Zealand convincingly.
In the quarterfinal Naikadawa was the hero of the side as he scored a last minute try to beat England 21-14.
The national 7s team won the Gold Coast, Hong Kong and the London 7s tournaments in the 2011-2012 series.
Fiji finished second overall on the series with 161 points with New Zealand taking out their 10th IRB World Series title with 167 points.
