Trade and economics are the main issues that are being discussed at the MSG Trade and Economic Officials meeting which begins today and will end on Friday.
While opening the meeting, Chairman and Permanent Secretary for Industry and Trade Shaheen Ali said the member countries will benefit from the free movement of goods and services.
Ali said the MSG members need support and cooperation to lay down the foundation of doing business to ensure growth.
He added the outcome of the meeting will be submitted to the MSG Trade Ministers meeting in Nadi next week.
Meanwhile, Fiji’s total trade with the Pacific Island countries especially with the MSG countries has increased to 4.5% in 2010 compared to less than 1% in 2000.
