Save the Children Fiji has initiated to extend a helping hand to the disaster struck children and their families in Myanmar. It is believed that at least 2.4 million people have been directly affected by this devastation caused by Cyclone Nargis.
Chairman of Save the Children Fiji Sanjay Singh said people need to save the future of the victims in Burma as they try to build their lives by donating to a nationwide appeal.
Last night, ANZ Bank general manager Robert Bell gave a $2,000 cheque at the launch of the Cyclone Nargis appeal which will run for two weeks.
Meanwhile, official figures indicate that 78,000 people are dead with another 56,000 still missing.
