ODPP given 1 month to gather evidence in Shonal Sharma cocaine import case
The Suva Magistrates Court has given the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions one month to collect all information from Police in regards to the investigation where Shonal Sharma allegedly imported 640.139 grams of cocaine through DHL Express in October last year.

Sharma's case was called this morning in front of Suva Magistrate Joseph Daurewa.

The Prosecution informed the court that they have received some documents from Police but are also awaiting other documents.

It is alleged that on the 30th of October 2025, Sharma collected a package declared as a smoke machine from the DHL Services Office in Raiwaqa.

He was subsequently intercepted by police officers, and the package was found to contain a white substance, determined as cocaine.

Sharma's bail has been extended.

The matter has been adjourned to the 21st of July.
