Toddler latest drowning victim

A 2 year old boy drowned in the sea near Rabi island yesterday afternoon.

Assistant Spokesperson, Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri said the child was playing on the beach with his brother and an uncle when he suddenly disappeared.

A search was conducted and his body was found floating in the sea by the villagers.

Police have once again reminded people to monitor their children not to leave them alone.

The drowning toll now stands at 32 compared to 37 last year.
