50 yr old man gets 16 years for rape

A 50 year old man convicted of rape of a four year old girl will spend the next 16 years in prison.

The incident happened in June last year when the victim was being looked after by the grandmother.

Lautoka High Court Judge Justice, Priyantha Nawana while sentencing the man said that the accused being a father and a grandfather knew the value of children however despite that he raped a little girl who was in the same age group of his grandchildren.

Justice Nawana sentenced the man to 16 years imprisonment and ordered that the man will not be eligible for parole until he serves 14 years imprisonment.
