FSC interested in supplying refined sugar locally

The Fiji Sugar Corporation has shown interest in supplying local companies refined sugar for commercial purposes.
FSC chief executive officer, Abdul Khan said they have companies like FMF, Punjas, Coca Cola among others that import refined sugar and they are calling for expressions of interests from companies to refine sugar here to help reduce sugar import substitution.
Khan said this will also mean helping the local economy and also tap other markets.
Meanwhile, FSC has also put out an advertisement calling for expressions of interest for the implementation of a production plant in Fiji.
Khan said the consulting organisation should have experience in preparing white refined sugar and sugar packaging plant feasibility studies and project implementation in developing countries with a proven record of excellence in conducting such studies.
The expression of interest is to be received by 23rd of this month.
