A devastating fire at Laucala Beach this morning has claimed the lives of two people, including a 10-year-old child.
The National Fire Authority has confirmed the deaths to fijivillage News, and says investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
The blaze broke out at around 8am before rapidly spreading, destroying the residential property and extending to nearby commercial buildings.
Police officers are at the scene.
They say the Police Forensic Team has recovered the bodies of the two victims, which have since been taken to the hospital for further examination.
The tragic incident has left the community in shock, with many gathering near the scene as emergency crews continue their work.
