Acting Prime Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum says they want all government vehicles to have GPS tracking devices.
This is to ensure that the ministries know where the vehicles are going or located.
Sayed-Khaiyum says this is all part of the government’s reforms to ensure there is no abuse of vehicles.
Yesterday Sayed-Khaiyum received 139 new vehicles being leased by the government from Asco Motors with another 500 vehicles that will arrive in the next 2 months.
The Acting Prime Minister adds the new vehicles will be assigned to the Fiji Police Force, Ministry of Health, RFMF, Ministry of Lands, Ministry of Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation and other government agencies.
