With the Pillay Garments Champion vs Champion series approaching this weekend, Rewa FC head coach Priyant Manu says the team’s preparation has been encouraging as they gear up to face Labasa FC despite significant squad changes ahead of their title defence.
He says the team has been training for the past month, and they have seen positive signs despite losing 12 players.
He adds that Rewa have taken a major hit in attack, having lost their entire front six from last season.
Manu also stated that the squad now comprises seven to eight senior players, with the rest being youth players and new inclusions.
He says the focus is on how quickly they adapt and respond to the training sessions so that there is no confusion or misunderstanding on game day.
Acknowledging the expectations from supporters, the coach says the pressure is gradually building, and Rewa fans expect nothing less than a win, so the team is working hard to defend the CVC title.
Rewa FC will take on Labasa FC at 3pm Sunday at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori.
