Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s head coach Osea Kolinisau says the team is focusing on improving its defence as they prepare for the Singapore leg of the World Rugby Sevens Series, where they will take on South Africa, Spain and Great Britain.
Kolinisau says missed tackles and weak one-on-one defence in Dubai and Cape Town cost the side key moments, and he believes strong defence is what separates winning teams from the rest.
He also says the players must make the most of their chances, especially in semi-finals where composure and execution are crucial.
Discipline remains a major priority for the side, with Kolinisau saying indiscipline is not tolerated and is actively addressed in training to reflect match conditions.

He adds that the team is committed to playing smart and disciplined rugby as they look to improve their performances at the McDonald’s Fiji Coral Coast tournament and in Singapore.
The Coral Coast Sevens gets underway at 9am today and runs through to Saturday at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.
The Singapore 7s will be held from 31st January to 1st February while the Perth 7s will be held on the 7th and 8th of February.
