Table-leaders Arsenal will take on third-placed Aston Villa in a Premier League clash this morning, with recent meetings between the two sides having been closely contested.
The Gunners have lost three of their last five league games against Villa and now risk the visitors securing a league double over them for the third time in six seasons.
Villa have also had success at the Emirates recently, staying unbeaten in their last two league visits—including a 2-0 win in April 2024.
This match marks a rare occurrence, as both teams meet twice in the same month.
Arsenal came out on top in both previous instances, while Villa’s results have been mixed.
Arsenal have a strong track record in year-end fixtures, winning four of their last five final league games.
In contrast, Villa have only managed two wins in their last 13 final matches of the year.
Arsenal face Villa at 8.15am.
In other matches, at 7.30am, Burnley face Newcastle United, Chelsea take on AFC Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest face Everton, West Ham United take on Brighton, while at 8.15am, Manchester United clash with Wolves.
