Acting FICAC Commissioner, Lavi Rokoika

Acting FICAC Commissioner, Lavi Rokoika says she cannot make any comments on Fiji Sports Council Executive Chairman, Gilbert Vakalalabure because there is a current investigation.

When asked if she would like to comment on public commentaries on the Fiji Sports Council investigation and Vakalalabure because he is her brother in law, Rokoika says it is a current investigation.

Rokoika stated this to the media at the FICAC office saying she cannot comment on a current investigation.

She says they disclose, and then they recuse.

Rokoika was also asked on whether there is any investigation into Permanent Secretary for Fisheries, Atelaite Rokosuka who was involved in the wind turbine project and who was found guilty by the Public Service Disciplinary Tribunal and reprimanded publicly but resumed office on the 19th of this month.

It was also earlier highlighted by the Public Service Commission, Luke Rokovada that the Fiji Sports Council Executive Chairman was also involved in the failed wind turbine project.

Rokoika says she is unable to comment on files that they have and files that they do not, and investigations that they will be conducting or have conducted.

She says they work on complaints that is given to them, and from then on, the process will then go through within the system of the organisation.

The Acting Commissioner says in terms of that particular file, it will be inappropriate for her to talk about files within the commission.
