We cannot go back and change the past but we can do something about it this weekend.

Those were the words of Chiefs lock Tupou Vaa’i as they prepare for their third consecutive Shop N Save Super Rugby grand final when they take on the Crusaders in Christchurch.

While the Chiefs are potentially 80 minutes away from securing a fairytale finish for coach Clayton McMillan and fullback Shaun Stevenson, who both will be leaving the club after this season, it does not get any tougher than beating the Crusaders in Christchurch – with the home side unbeaten in 31 home playoff games.

Vaa’i says he is sure the players are excited to go out there and they are just so grateful that they have got another opportunity to be in another final.

He says he knows it is not an easy task to be in finals the last three years, as it is definitely something.

He adds they just have to nail their moments, especially during set-piece times, and then they have got to win the collision.

Vaa’i says it has been a key area in the competition and they just got to be dominant in that area.

The Chiefs will take on the Crusaders at 7.05pm on Saturday in Christchurch.
