Suva Zone 1 set to begin this morning, MGM out to defend title

After the conclusion of the Coca-Cola Suva Zone 2 yesterday, the Coca-Cola Suva Zone 1 will begin today and is expected to be more thrilling with some top schools around Suva battling for supreme.

Mahatma Gandhi Memorial School was crowned champions in both the boys' and girls’ divisions last year and they will be looking to go out and defend their title.

Last year in the boys’ division, MGM won 17 gold, 15 silver and 7 bronze, while in the girls' division, MGM won 35 gold, 10 silver and 14 bronze medals.

Tickets will be available at the venue, with grandstand tickets selling at $10 per day and embankment tickets costing $7 per day.

Also, there will be six more zone competitions that will start today across the country and these zones include the Ovalau Zone, Macuata Zone One and Two, Bua, Savusavu, and Taveuni.

Meanwhile, the Powerade National Torch Relay began yesterday, marking the start of the highly anticipated school athletics season in Fiji.

The Coca-Cola Games 2025 will be held from the 24th to the 26th of next month at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
