The Suva Combine Masters team has claimed the prestigious Battle of the Giants title in the 45s category, overcoming Nasinu Legends 1-nil in a nail-biting final held at the Uprising Sports Centre in Pacific Harbour over the past two weekends.
Led by captain Jan Sherani, the clash was a repeat of the Fiji FACT final.
Amasai Konataci scored the decisive goal that sealed the victory.
In a dramatic twist late in the game, Nasinu Legends were awarded a penalty in the final five minutes.
However, Sherani rose to the occasion, pulling off a brilliant save to deny Mark Rokobuli and secure the win.
To reach the final, Suva Combine edged past the much-favoured Nasinu Masters in a tense semi-final shootout.
Nasinu Legends booked their spot in the final after defeating Rewa Masters.
In the 40s category, Navua Masters emerged victorious after defeating Suva Combine Masters on penalties in another tightly contested final.
The Fiji Football Association-sanctioned BOG tournament proved to be a success, featuring 16 teams competing in the 40s and 45s categories.
