People can now watch all sixteen men’s and women’s matches from the highly anticipated Rugby League Pacific Championship after Digicel announced they will be showing it live on Sky Pacific and the DTV app.

Digicel Fiji CEO, Farid Mohammed says they are delighted to bring top quality rugby league action to the homes of their Sky Pacific customers.

Mohammed says this exciting expansion of the Pacific Championship demonstrates the growing popularity and passion for rugby league in the region.

He says fans can expect to witness intense competition, incredible skills and unforgettable moments as teams from across the region battle it out for glory.

The CEO says the stakes have been higher following the debut of the Pacific Championships last year.

He says promotion and relegation add an extra layer of drama to every match in the competition.

Mohammed says the Pacific Cup and Pacific Bowl will be played in four countries across four weekends in October and November.

The 2024 men’s tournament will once again feature two divisions: the Pacific Cup and the Pacific Bowl.

The Cup will have top ranked nations Australia, New Zealand and Tonga while the Bowl will see Fiji Bati, Papua New Guinea and Cook Islands battle it out.

The 2024 women’s tournament is set to be even more explosive, with four weeks of Cup and Bowl matches.

The Bowl will serve as a qualifying event for the Rugby League World Cup 2026.

The women’s Cup features the powerhouse teams Australia, New Zealand and PNG, with Fiji, Tonga, Samoa and Cook Islands to contest the Bowl.

The Bowl winner will qualify for the World Cup 2026.

The Pacific Cup kicks off on Friday, 18 October with a doubleheader when Australia will face Tonga in the men’s match while Australia will play PNG in the women’s encounter.

In the October Pacific Bowl women’s draw, Tonga will face Samoa on the 19th and Fiji will meet Cook Islands on the 26th while in the men’s division Fiji Bati will face off against the PNG Kumuls in an expected thriller on the 19th and the Bati will return to the field to take on the Cook Islands on the 26th.

The 2024 Pacific Championships will conclude with a quadruple-header in Sydney on Sunday, 10 November headlined by the men’s and women’s Cup finals and the promotion relegation games featuring the top team in the Bowl vs the bottom team in the Cup.
