Roy Krishna is on the verge of making history by earning his 50th national cap as he captains the team against Tahiti in the Pacific Games tonight.

Since his debut for the senior men's team shortly before turning 20 in 2007, the Fijian striker has emerged as a pathfinder and this milestone cements his legendary status in the sport.

Krishna's journey from a 19-year-old debutant who scored a hat trick to being the first player to reach 50 caps is a remarkable testament to his enduring commitment to representing his nation on the football pitch.

Fiji Football Association President, Rajesh Patel says he has sent his congratulatory message to Krishna on this milestone.

Patel says his journey has been extraordinary, and today marks a historic milestone for Fijian football.

He says Krishna’s dedication and skill shines bright, bringing pride to the nation.

He says Krishna’s leadership both on and off the field sets a remarkable example for aspiring players, and they are fortunate to have him represent the country as over the years he has not only honed his skills but has also evolved into a leader both on and off the field.

Patel adds as he captains the squad against Tahiti, Krishna's legacy in Fijian football will be etched in history.

The Digicel men’s national team will play Tahiti at 8 tonight while the Digicel Fiji Kulas will play Vanuatu at 4pm today.
