The 2024 Ratu Sukuna Bowl Rugby Challenge between Police and Army will be held on the 8th of November.

The much anticipated annual battle of the two forces will also include other sports, such as soccer, netball, volleyball, boxing, rugby league and rugby 7s that will be held throughout the week leading up to the main game on Saturday.

Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew laid down the challenge to their counterpart saying they are ready and looking forward to defending their title.

He says as Police officers, they are trained to be suspicious of everyone, and they cannot help but wonder what strategy or power play is at play during the launching of the event.

He adds they understand the colours of the sponsors are red and also the military, but they hope this is just for marketing.

The Commissioner says the title will return to Nasova this year.

RFMF Commander Major-General Ro Jone Kalouniwai says the Ratu Sukuna Bowl competition is more than about winning, it is about who they are and what they can do for this country.

He says the last time they lifted the Sukuna Bowl was in 2021, and they are hoping to take back the title to Delainabua.

While officiating at the launch, Vodafone Chief Commercial Officer Salman Khan says Fiji is a nation passionate about rugby, and this event sees our disciplined forces compete not just for victory, but for a trophy that embodies camaraderie, discipline and a spirited rivalry.

He urges the players to compete with integrity, passion, and pride for their team and keep in mind that they carry not only their own aspirations but also the legacy of past champions and the dreams of future generations.

He reminds supporters that their unwavering enthusiasm and encouragement are a testament to the unity and strength that define our nation.
