One of Fiji’s leading manufacturers and distributors, the Punjas Group, have joined the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua sponsorship Vuvale for the 2024 Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific.

The new sponsorship deal will see the Punjas Group logo, as well as the Ocean Soaps logo feature prominently on the matchday kit of the Fijian Drua.

The Drua says as part of the sponsorship, the Punjas Group has taken over official sponsorship across a number of categories ranging from food and beverages, as well as soaps and detergents.

It says the deal will also see the Punjas Group and the Drua embark on major consumer promotions and campaigns with hundreds of matchday tickets and Drua gear up for grabs.

Managing Director of the Punjas Group, Rajesh Punja, says this is one of the biggest sponsorship deals their Group has embarked on, underscoring their commitment to Fiji and the hundreds of thousands of Fijian Drua fans who are also their customers.

He says they have seen the spectacular rise of the Fijian Drua in just two seasons of Super Rugby Pacific, and just like their customers, they are huge fans of the team which proudly flies the Fiji flag every time they take the field.

Punja says they play for the country, the Vanua and their families, so when the opportunity came for the Punjas family to be a part of the Drua vuvale, they gladly accepted it.

He says rugby is Fiji’s national sport, and the Drua is important to the people of Fiji, which naturally means they are important to them.

Fijian Drua CEO Mark Evans says that having a household name in Fiji and one of the country’s biggest brands come on board is a great show of faith in the Drua.

Evans says the Punjas Group has been serving Fiji for 88 years and must be commended for their enormous contribution over these nine decades.

He says everything from their community projects and sports sponsorship showcases their strong roots in Fiji and commitment to the country.

He adds that with their help, and that of their other sponsors, they will embark on another Super Rugby Pacific campaign with the aim of doing better in all respects.

The sponsorship deal is for three years.

The 2024 Shop N Save Super Rugby starts in February next year, with the Drua playing the Blues on the 24th.
