Navua will have to wait a little longer to find out their fate in the Extra Battle of the Giants tournament after a tense 1-all draw with Nadi at Subrail Park this afternoon.

Navua’s Solomon Islands import, Jared Rongosulia, found the back of the net in the first half with a well-taken penalty, while Nadi equalised in the dying minutes through a spot-kick by Tuiba Batiratu.

Navua now await the result of this afternoon’s crucial Group B clash between Rewa and Suva to determine whether they will advance to the semi-finals.

Suva must win by at least four goals to qualify.

Rewa, already safely through with 6 points, lead the group, while Navua sit on 4 and Suva trail with just a point.

Navua coach Babs Khan they cannot predict what will happen but they would like to be on the safe side.

He also questioned the referee’s decision to award Nadi a late penalty, though he says they will accept it.

Meanwhile, Ba and Nadroga are currently battling it out in their final group match.

Suva will take on Rewa at 2pm, followed by host Labasa going up against defending champions Lautoka at 4pm.

The semi-finals and final will be held next weekend, with the venue yet to be confirmed.
