In a shocking turn of events, Partslink Automotive/Manasa Exports Nadroga defeated Extra Supermarket Labasa 2–1 in today’s opening match of the BiC Fiji FACT.

The Babasiga Lions scored the first goal of the match in the first half, with Rusiate Doidoi finding the net in the 26th minute to give them a 1–0 lead.

Nadroga equalised in the 33rd minute when Malakai Lavecake scored from the penalty spot, bringing the score to 1–all at half-time.

The second half was thrilling, with both teams pushing hard to score, however, it was Jack Tokaki who sealed the win for Nadroga with a goal in the 72nd minute, making it 2–1 and handing the Babasiga Lions their first defeat of the 2025 season.

Nadroga team director Navin Kant says the boys played really well, and he plans to reorganise and bring a more formidable team to the next tournament.

He says Labasa is known to be a very strong team, and this win shows that the Nadroga team is also capable of displaying great football on the field.

Despite winning the match, Nadroga is officially out of the tournament, as they needed two two-goals to qualify for the semi-finals.
