Nadi has been awarded 3 points in the Extra Premier Football League match against Navua after protesting that Navua had fielded an ineligible player and the Integrity Committee will also conduct a full investigation involving both teams.

Navua had initially beaten Nadi 5-2 on Sunday.

The Fiji Football Association says their Board of Control held an emergency meeting at 5.30pm today to discuss the protest.

They say it was confirmed that Navua fielded a player who was suspended due to accumulated yellow cards, despite being officially informed by Fiji FA via email on 16th and 24th September.

Fiji FA says as per Article 26.3 of the Extra Premier League Regulations, the protest has been upheld in favour of Nadi.

They say in addition, under Articles 6.1 and 6.2(a) of the Regulations on Integrity of the Competition and Match-Fixing, the Board has directed the Integrity Committee to carry out a full investigation involving both Navua and Nadi.

The Association says a report will be presented at the Board meeting this Saturday, after which the Board will decide if the matter should be referred to the Ethics Committee for further action.

Fiji FA adds they take matters of integrity and fair play seriously and will ensure that the process is carried out thoroughly and fairly.
