Litia Lala of Tailevu North College and Samuela Navitalai of Ratu Kadavulevu School Blue Ribbon champs of the Tailevu Zone.

Litia Lala of Tailevu North College and Samuela Navitalai of Ratu Kadavulevu School have been crowned the Blue Ribbon Champions of the Coca Cola Tailevu Zone.

Lala clocked a time of 13.20 seconds in the senior girls’ final and Navitalai stopped the clock at 10.93 seconds in the senior boys’ final, ahead of defending Tailevu Zone Blue Ribbon Champion Senirusi Rauqe, who clocked 11.12 seconds.

Rauqe clocked a best time of 10.66 seconds in the heats, but slowed down a bit in the final.

Meanwhile, Tailevu North and RKS are currently leading the girls’ and boys’ divisions’ medal tallies respectively.

Tailevu North College and Ratu Kadavulevu School are currently leading the girls’ and boys’ divisions’ medal tallies respectively after day 1 of the Coca Cola Tailevu Zone that was held at the HFC Bank Stadium today.

In the girls’ division, Tailevu North are leading with 9 gold, 6 silver, and 4 bronze, Dawasamu Secondary School is second with 4 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze, while Wainibuka Secondary School are third with 2 gold, 1 silver and 5 bronze.

In the boys’ division, Ratu Kadavulevu School is leading with 9 gold, 6 silver, and 6 silver, Queen Victoria School is second with 8 gold, 10 silver, and 9 bronze, while Tailevu North is third with 2 gold, and 1 silver.

Day 2 of the competition will start at 8am tomorrow.
