LA 7s: Spain to face South Africa in Men’s Cup Final following dominant SF performance

NZ to play Australia in Women’s Cup Final

Spain and South Africa put on dominating performances in their respective semi final matches to book a Men’s Cup Final showdown in the HSBC World Championship Final in Los Angeles this morning.

Spain thumped defending champions Argentina 29-5 in the first semi final, while South Africa thrashed NZ 31-5 in the second semi final.

In the Women’s Cup semi finals, Australia defeated Canada 33-7 in the first semi final to book a cup final match-up against NZ, who defeated the USA 34-7.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Airways Men’s National 7s side finished 8th after losing to Great Britain 31-19 in the 7th place playoffs, their 4th consecutive loss in the tournament, and the first time ever for them to be winless in a tournament.

The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s finished 5th after thrashing Great Britain 46-14 in the 5th place playoffs this morning.

The Women’s Cup Final will kick off at 12.05pm while the Men’s Cup Final will start at 12.41pm today.
