Cameron Munster is preparing to lead Queensland in tonight’s State of Origin decider against New South Wales following a touching moment at Accor Stadium yesterday.

Munster’s mother Debbie, his wife Bianca, and their three children, were sitting besides the tunnel as he led the team out for a final tune up before game three.

After leading the side out, Munster took time to go into the stands and meet his family in a heartwarming scene before heading out to train.

The Maroons captain is dealing with the sudden death of his father, Steven Munster, on the weekend.

Munster learned of his father’s passing while in camp on Sunday morning, and stepped away from the Maroons’ preparation to be with his family.

The Queensland skipper maintained his desire to play throughout the grieving process, and showed he will be ready to go by leading the side out for their captain’s run at Sydney’s Accor Stadium.

Queensland coach Billy Slater says naturally he has been pretty upset over the last couple of days, but he has been where he is needed to be with his mum and his sister.

He says they are tragic circumstances and it was a real sad and sombre mood over the last couple of days.

Slater adds he is sure the players are looking forward to seeing him and getting around him as well.

Munster earned man-of-the-match honours on his Queensland captaincy debut as the Maroons levelled the series in Perth.

He now has a shot at adding to Origin folklore by leading his state to a unforgettable comeback after such personal tragedy.

The Maroons take on the Blues at 10.05 tonight.
