The Fiji Water Flying Fijians will be looking to break their losing streak against Scotland, having won only 2 of their 12 past encounters, while Scotland is sending a strong side to maintain their dominance on Fijian soil.

The Fiji Rugby Union is thrilled to announce that the Fiji Water Flying Fijians will face Scotland in what will be the 13th clash between the two nations, with their rivalry dating back to their first encounter on September 25th, 1982.

They say Flying Fijians Head Coach Mick Byrne, who recently returned from his trip to the UK and France, is enthusiastic about the upcoming clash.

Byrne says his team is currently monitoring a list of 80 players for test matches scheduled throughout the year.

He says there is a good mix of players from both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. This upcoming match will be a crucial part of Fiji’s ongoing preparation as they look to compete at the highest level in 2025.

According to the Fiji Rugby Union, Fiji and Scotland have faced off on 12 occasions throughout, with the most recent meeting occurring in 2024, where Scotland defeated Fiji 57-17.

FRU adds that the match on July 12th promises to be another exciting chapter in this historic rugby rivalry and Fans are encouraged to come out in full support of the Flying Fijians as they aim to turn the tide against the Scots on home soil.

Fiji will host Scotland at 3pm on July 12th at the HFC Bank Stadium, Suva.
