Fiji Bati utility Kurt Donoghoe faces fine of $1800-$2500 for dangerous tackle in Rd 1 of NRL

Vodafone Fiji Bati hooker and Dolphins’ utility Kurt Donoghoe has been hit with a fine of $1800 to $2500 for a dangerous tackle in the Dolphins’ close 16-14 loss to the Rabbitohs in round 1 of the NRL 2025 season.

Donoghoe was charged with a Grade 1 Dangerous Contact for a tackle on Rabbitohs forward Jai Arrow.

Meanwhile, Rabbitohs’ star Jack Wighton faces suspension over a tackle on Dolphins second-rower Kulikefu Finefeuiaki.

Wighton was hit with two charges from the match - a Grade 2 Careless High Tackle for the shot on Finefeuiaki and Grade 1 Dangerous Contact for another tackle on Daniel Saifiti.

He will be suspended for one match with an early plea or receive a two-match ban if he unsuccessfully challenges the high tackle charge at the judiciary.

In other latest judiciary charges, Angus Crichton of the Roosters is charged with a Grade 1 Dangerous Contact and has been hit with a $3000 fine with 2 match suspensions, Tyson Frizell of the Knights faces a $1000-$1500 fine for a Grade 1 Careless High Tackle, Roosters’ Xavier Savage cops a 1 match suspension for a Grade 2 Dangerous Contact, Joseph Tapine of the Raiders faces a 2 match suspension for a Grade 2 Shoulder Charge, and Briton Nikora of the Sharks faces a fine of $1000 for a Grade 2 Dangerous Contact.
