FIFA World Cup-bound referee and FIFA Council member caught on camera accepting bribes

A FIFA World Cup-bound referee and a FIFA Council member has been caught on camera accepting bribes in a two year long under cover investigation.

FIFA World Cup bound referee, Range Marwa, has had to resign from his position after being caught receiving a $600USD bribe.

With the FIFA World Cup beginning next Friday, Marwa was the sole Kenyan among sixteen African officials who were headed to Russia to officiate at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Meanwhile, president of Ghana’s FA, Kwesi Nyantakyi, was also filmed receiving money in a sting operation.

Nyantakyi, who is also a member of the prestigious FIFA Council could have made upto $4.5 million from the diversion of funds had the fictitious deal gone through.

Nyantaki has been called the second most powerful man in African football by BBC.
