Daniel Carter’s father Neville Carter has said that his allegiance will still be with Crusaders even though his son will be playing for the Blues when Super Rugby Aotearoa begins next Saturday.

Speaking to Newstalk ZB, Neville made it clear that he will not be changing his allegiances from the Crusaders to the Blues any time soon.

He says the Crusaders are always going to get the support from him and he will be keeping his fingers crossed that Carter will not get smashed by the Crusaders.

Meanwhile, Carter’s grandmother Pam Carter appeared more sympathetic to Dan's new team saying the Blues is where he belongs.

Carter was yesterday confirmed as the Blues' latest addition ahead of the launch of Super Rugby Aotearoa, linking up with former teammate turned coach Leon MacDonald as an injury replacement.

The Blues first match will be against the Hurricanes at 3.05pm next Sunday.
