The Fiji Volleyball Federation has received $10,000 from the Chinese Government to boost their preparation for the upcoming Pacific Mini Games in Palau.

Chinese Ambassador to Fiji, Zhou Jian says he is happy to donate the money to a sport of his liking.

Jian says that over the years, Fiji and China have had a strong friendship, and China will not only support Fiji in the economic field but also in the sports field.

He says this donation is a demonstration of support for Fiji's sports development, and this is a constant commitment.

He hopes the players will do their best in the coming games in Palau.

While acknowledging the Chinese Government, Fiji Volleyball Federation President Kemueli Naiqama says there are mostly youths that are unemployed in the team, and each player has to pay a levy.

He says the Government is fully supporting the development of rugby, whereas other sports can also have a fair share in this.

The 2025 Pacific Mini Games will be held from the 29th of June to the 9th of July.
