40 member squad including national 7s players being monitored by Fiji Rugby

A 40-member extended squad which includes some national 7s players have been selected from various provincial teams and they are now attending camp and weekly strength and conditioning tests at the Fiji Rugby High-Performance Unit.

Some of the players in the squad include Meli Derenalagi, Napolioni Ratu, Josua Vakurunabili, Serupepeli Vularika, Eremasi Radrodro, John Stewart, Asaeli Tuivuaka, Manasa Saulo, Tuidraki Samusamuvodre, Veremalua Vugakoto, Joeli Veitayaki, Ratunaisa Navuma, Necani Nawaqadau and Kini Douglas.

These players will be going through a series of high-performance unit programmes as well as camps to benchmark where they are at in terms of fitness.

Fiji Rugby Strength and Conditioning coach Naca Cawanibuka says they been putting GPS on targeted players in some of the games.

He says the aim is to get the players to international standard by October.
