Fiji Airways Flying Fijians fullback Kini Murimurivalu has signed with English rugby club Leicester Tigers.

The 30-test veteran joins the East Midlands club from French side La Rochelle, where he made more than 130 appearances in eight seasons.

Murimurivalu says he feels blessed and happy to sign with the Tigers where he will be playing alongside former Flying Fijian Nemani Nadolo.

He says that he is looking forward to the experience and the different environment in Leicester after more than 10 years in France, and to try new things.

The 31-year-old made his debut for Fiji against Tonga in 2011 and has represented the country at three consecutive Rugby World Cups.

Leicester Tigers Director of Rugby Geordan Murphy says Murimurivalu is an exciting addition to their squad and he is sure that he will be someone who will light up the Premiership while representing the Tigers.

Murimurivalu will link up with his new team-mates in the coming weeks ahead of the scheduled resumption of the English Premiership campaign in August.
