Vata Likely Leader for Warriors

Winning Crusaders Colonial Cup captain Aporosa Vata is tipped to lead the Air Pacific Fiji Warriors for this year’s Pacific Cup.

Vata is not a stranger to top level rugby as he has been a member of the national 15s rugby team from 2004 under former national 15s rugby coach Wayne Pivac.

His leadership from the halfback spot is vital for the Warriors who also have the services of four current Fiji 15s reps to last year’s Rugby World Cup in their line-up.

The likes of Alefoso Yalayalatabua, Vereniki Sauturaga, Aca Ratuva and Waisea Luveniyali will provide the support for Vata to carry out his role easily.

Meanwhile, Knights halfback Kelemedi Bola will captain the Fiji Barbarians team who will play away from home in their opening game against Savai’i Samoa.

Bola has been part of the Suva team for the past 5 years and also can play at inside centre.

The Fiji Warriors will take on Tautahi Gold from Tonga on Friday at 7pm (Fiji Time) at Churchill Park. You can catch the live commentary of the match on FijiVillage.

The Fiji Barbarians will travel to Samoa to play Savai'i Samoa on Saturday at 4pm (Fiji Time).
