Team Fiji settles into athletes village for Commonwealth Games

Team Fiji has settled in well into the Athletes' Village at Glasgow for the Commonwealth Games.

After arriving in smaller groups, the team is now preparing for their respective events.

Chef de Mission, Lyndall Fisher said that it has been quite an achievement for Team Fiji to get to the Commonwealth Games, as the team was only recently invited to the Games.

Meanwhile champion bowler, Litia Tikoisuva, will have the honor of being Fiji's flag bearer during the opening ceremony.

Team Fiji’s Lawn Bowl, Weight Lifting and Swimming teams will compete tomorrow.

Banuve Tabakaucoro and Younese Bese are expected to hit the tracks at 2.30pm Sunday in the 100 and 200 metres heats.

The Sevens Rugby competition kicks off at 9.32pm Sunday.

The Commonwealth Games opening ceremony will be held at 8 tonight.
