7 schools to compete in 2-day Tailevu Zone Competition

The Coca Cola Tailevu Zone kicks off today at the HFC Bank Stadium, with seven schools competing for glory.

They are defending boys champions Queen Victoria School, defending girls champions Tailevu North College, Ratu Kadavulevu School, St Vincent College, Dawasamu Secondary School, Naiyala Secondary School, and Wainibuka Secondary School.

RKS will be aiming to dethrone their rivals, QVS, this year, and they will be looking to Salamisa Masi to win gold in the sprint events, as he clocked a manual time of 10.56 seconds during the schools’ interhouse competition.

Another athlete to watch is 17-year-old Jale Raikatalau, a rising name in long-distance race.

He will compete in the intermediate boys’ 1,500 metres and 800 metres events.

The Tailevu Zone will be held today and tomorrow.
