Chiefs and All Blacks centre Seta Tamanivalu is set to sign with the Crusaders for the 2017 Super Rugby season.

According to NZ Herald, sources within the Crusaders have confirmed the franchise is close to signing the star midfielder ‑ if they have not already.

Tamanivalu, the former Lelean Memorial School student, was a standout in the Chiefs midfield this year and received an All Blacks call‑up for the Welsh series earlier this year.

A Chiefs media representative said today they were unable to comment on player movements, but sources within the franchise confirmed Tamanivalu had been approached by the Crusaders.

Tamanivalu scored nine tries for the Chiefs in the 16 games he played in 2016 ‑ just two less than Waratahs star Israel Folau who topped Super Rugby scoring with 11.

Meanwhile the All Blacks play Argentina at 10.10am this Sunday while South Africa play Australia at 3.05am.
