Spain beats Iran 1-0 in second Group B match in the FIFA World Cup

Spain have beaten Iran 1-0 in their second Group B match in the FIFA World Cup.

Diego Costa scored the winning goal in the 54th minute.

Costa now has three goals in this World Cup.

Spain now has four points after two matches and are joint top of Group B with Portugal.

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo scored for Portugal as they beat Morocco 1-0 in their Group B match in the FIFA World Cup.

Ronaldo has now scored four goals in two matches in the World Cup as he had earlier scored a hat-trick against Spain in their first group match.

Ronaldo has become the highest European international goal-scorer in history with 85 goals.

In another match earlier this morning, Uruguay beat Saudi Arabia 1-0 in their Group A match, to book their place in the last 16 of the World Cup.

That result means that 70th ranked and host, Russia has also qualified from Group A for the knock out stages.

In matches tomorrow, Denmark will play Australia at 12am, France will play Peru at 3am while Argentina will play Croatia at 6am.
