The Flying Fijians and All Blacks Test next Friday has not attracted many rugby fans with a week to go.
Only 10,000 tickets have been sold for the Christchurch earthquake relief appeal prompting the boss of New Zealand rugby to make a plea for Dunedin rugby fans to support the match.
CEO Steve Tew expressed disappointment at the dismal sales figures yesterday and hoped there would be interest in the match after the All Blacks were named on Sunday with a couple of Highlanders in the team, which should help.
The NZRU’s breakeven point is about 10,000 tickets.
All profits from the game are to be donated to the quake relief.
The All Blacks host Fiji next Friday at 7.35pm.
