Roy Krishna misses crucial penalty as Wellington Phoenix settle for draw

Roy Krishna misses a penalty against Newcastle Jets

Fiji’s Roy Krishna missed out a penalty as his team Wellington Phoenix drew 1-1 in an A-League match against Newcastle Jets.

Wellington Phoenix despite the draw have maintained their eight point advantage over Newcastle Jets.

Phoenix blew a golden opportunity to extend their lead by 11 points after Roy Krishna failed to penalty spot as they won the 87th minute penalty.

Although Krishna has found the back of the net 11 times this season, he has a poor record from the penalty spot.

His miss against the Jets was his seventh unsuccessful penalty in 14 attempts.

Coach Mark Rudan has previously stated that he had no desire to take the responsibility off Krishna, but it is probably time to let someone else have a turn.
