Rainibogi wins silver and bronze medals at Oceania Championships

Taniela Rainibogi has won a silver and a bronze medal at the Oceania Weightlifting Championships last night.

He finished with a snatch of 135Kg and a Clean & Jerk of 163Kg to lift a personal best of 298Kg.

Taniela finished 6th in the Commonwealth Senior Event and 4th in the Commonwealth Junior Competition.

Weightlifting Fiji is expecting Taniela to qualify for the Commonwealth Games, based upon these very good performances in Gold Coast.

The names of all qualified athletes will be known after all the ranking tournaments including UK Championships are completed by end of October.
