RSMS and Dudley High win boys and girls division of Suva Zone 1

Ratu Sukuna Memorial School and Dudley High School have been crowned the new champions of the 2019 Suva Zone 1 competition

Ratu Sukuna Memorial School and Dudley High School have been crowned the new champions of the 2019 Suva Zone 1 competition.

Ratu Sukuna retained their boys division title with 13 gold, 8 silver and 8 bronze, Nasinu Secondary School came in 2nd place with 6 gold, 9 silver and 4 bronze while John Wesley College came in 3rd place with 6 gold, 9 silver and 2 bronze.

Dudley High School defied all odds to claim the girls division with 12 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze leaving Nasinu Secondary School in 2nd place with 9 gold, 12 silver and 11 bronze while last year's champion Ballentine Memorial School came in 3rd place with 9 gold, 10 silver and 10 bronze.

Vereniki Koroi of RSMS was named the best male athlete collecting gold in the 100m and 200m senior boys while Alanieta Moceiwasa of Dudley High School was given the best female athlete after winning the senior girls 400m and 800m events.

Meanwhile, Koroi of RSMS clocked a manual time of 10.71s in the senior boys 100m and team mate Mereseini Koroinamoce ran a manual time of 12.36s in the senior girls 100m.
