Fiji could be playing in the International Cup competition of the Australian Football League or Ozzie Rules in the near future.
AFL Oceania Development manager Andrew Cadzow told worldfootynews.com that Fiji has good players who can play in the AFL and by including them in the next International Cup will be dream come true for them.
He said AFL already has Fijian players like David Rodan and Alipate Carlisle who play for Port Adelaide and Nicholas Naitanui who plays for West Coast while Western Bulldogs have recently signed Fiji's Inoke Ratu and Solomoni Loki on a $1000 per year scholarship.
Cadzow said Aussie Rules is too soft in compared with rugby region and they will now promote and help facilitate senior and youth football throughout the middle of Oceania, especially between Samoa, Tonga, Nauru, Solomon’s and Fiji.
